The Feast of Corpus Christi or The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ From the Church’s Universal Calendar
Even as I write today, restrictions on our movements and actions imposed in the face of a life threatening pandemic are easing. We are able to gather in our church once again to worship our God and to celebrate the Sacraments, source and summit of them all being the Eucharist.
Yes, there still are certain precautions for us to observe and implement as we gather, but what inconvenience might we accept or sacrifice might we make to be able to receive Our Lord and Savior, Body and Soul into our very being?
While we have been “away,” what did we remember of Him that He might sustain us? How have we been enriched by this absence? Have our hearts been able to move beyond disappointment and impatience to a deeper, broader, and richer hunger for Him? Is our approach to Christ present in the Eucharist fonder, more humble, more open? ...more grateful?
