To serve at the altar of God during Mass is one of the greatest privileges of our Catholic lives. When we do this, we place ourselves close to Jesus, truly present in the Blessed Sacrament in the tabernacle. We also make more reverent the community ’s worship as we prayerfully dedicate ourselves to service in the sanctuary. Very few people ever get this privilege and it is an honor to accept the invitation to serve.
This Summer, we are in need of adult or children (Grades 3-up) altar servers at all weekend Masses. We welcome those who have previously served and those who have never done so. I am willing to train new servers this Summer so that all Masses are covered. Please consider volunteering and serving Our Lord in this way.
After the pandemic, many parishes have begun again visitation of the homebound and the sick in nursing homes. We would like to begin such visitation again this Summer. Did you previously bring Communion to the homebound? Have you brought Communion to the sick in the nursing home? Would you like to try something new and be trained as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion?
Sign up sheets for both altar serving and bringing Communion to the sick and homebound are located on the large table in the church vestibule. If you’d like to help the parish in either of these two ministries please put down your name and phone number on the sheets and we will contact you. Thank you for your help.
Blessings and good health to you during this Summertime heat!
