Dear Friends in Christ,
As we end the Summer, various small maintenance projects and outdoor tasks on the property are present in the church and rectory. At this week’s parish council meeting, we discussed the need of the formation of a parish Buildings and Grounds Committee to address these and future concerns.
A Buildings and Grounds Committee is comprised of parishioners who are good stewards of the parish and are willing to use their gifts and talents so that the church, rectory, parish center and grounds remain maintained and beautiful. These volunteers work in conjunction with the pastor, church and parish maintenance staff and other volunteers on an ongoing basis. Buildings and Grounds Committee Members and volunteers share their talents in gardening, painting, cleaning, minor repairs and “tech” assistance, etc. They also act as a resource to the pastor, church and parish staff to make recommendations about maintenance and grounds upkeep.
Currently, we are seeking to gather parishioners interested in Buildings and Grounds and are looking ahead to late Fall for our first formal meeting. The formation of a parish Buildings and Grounds Committee will ensure that in these times of rising costs that St. Peter’s is able to remain kept up and always looking its best.
If you have gifts, talents and/or experience in contracting, home improvement, landscaping, janitorial work, the “tech” field or would like to help around the parish, please sign up on the
sign-up sheet in the gathering area. We appreciate you interest and care for St. Peter’s Parish.
