Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! While it will take some time yet to square away all of the figures regarding expenses to know truly the financial results of our Holiday Bazaar, we all know this favorite among parish events was a hit and greatly successful last Saturday. I thank the hard working leadership team, our virtual army of volunteers, and so many of you who generously loaded those tables or who generously did your shopping with us again this year! We shopped well, took a chance well, ate well, and enjoyed each other’s company in ways that made the Angels smile!
Thank you to everyone who prepared in advance for and celebrated our Annual Mass of Remembrance on Sunday. It remains so clear from year to year that the families, friends, and fellow parishioners of those who were called home to God during the past year draw tremendous support from being invited and their loved ones being remembered in this way.
Thank you to those who have reminded me that Advent is right around the corner! The environment in the church for this beautiful season has been planned. We also will offer again this year a Wednesday Evening Prayer each week, with Eucharistic Adoration and prayer from the Liturgy of the Hours.
Finally, thank you for your ongoing support of St. Peter Parish. With this weekend’s bulletin, and e-mailed to parish families for whom we have an email address please find our annual report and budget. As you will see, it is only because of cuts to the expense lines in our budget that we have been able to achieve a basically balance budget. Where we are in this regard is not what we consider a goal achieved, but a necessary stepping stone reached toward a future in which we might justly find joy. Fr. Tom
