As you will recall, a couple of weeks ago I offered you the first, pastor’s introduction to the Legacy of Hope, a diocesan capital campaign which is underway here at St. Peter’s during these months of autumn. Parishes of the Diocese in two other blocks have undertaken this campaign as scheduled, prior to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. With the current work of Block 3 parishes, and the work winter into spring of parishes in Block 4, we have the hope and expectation that our efforts will realize the targets set to endow specific diocesan ministries for our future, and to bring to parishes much needed funds to accomplish our own work to ensure the structural integrity of our parish campuses for a future of fruitful ministry.
What I have highlighted above is easily laid out on a graph or a chart. What is not so easily captured is found behind them. The work to be done, the reason for doing it, and the means by which it can be accomplished is more complex than that, because it is very human in nature, very human in connections, and very human in its net effects. This isn’t just numbers.
More importantly it is people.
Our Legacy of Hope Committee here at St. Peter’s will be:
Janet & Tom Heney, Co-Chairs
John Brouillard
Nancy & Steve Dupre
Linda Veglia, Receptions
Pete Sabourin, Receptions
Homer Rajotte
Chris Fung-A-Fat, Communications
Tom Dorsz, Campaign Director (Diocese)
Fr. Tom Landry, Pastor
Whether in our support of the diocesan initiatives, or with a focus on our needs in the areas of capital improvements, parish-cased charitable outreach of new parish initiatives in evangelization, there are lives to touch, persons to serve, a shared future for which to build!
