Hello!
Yes, as I write this for you, I do expect to be away when you are reading this. I add my words of welcome to our guest this weekend, Fr. Peter Grojuk, OMV. Fr. Peter is a member of the missionary order of the Oblates of the Virgin Mary, and comes to us from St. Joseph Retreat House in Milton MA. May it be a fruitful experience in faith and of faith for everyone! *********************
My time away now is just a mini vacation, not more medical leave. I can say honestly that I feel better with each passing week, and for that I am most grateful. It does not escape my awareness that there is a major prayer campaign out there on my behalf. I am truly grateful, also, for the many little works of mercy and support during my time of reentry here at the parish. It has been a time of some bumps and missteps, but overall, it has been a time that makes me ever more grateful for my own faith and for the faith-lived-in-deeds by you, the People of God. Thank you.
In the weeks in which we stand and the weeks just ahead, there will be a real flurry of activity. I am going to do my best to keep up. I do look forward to “the year” that lies ahead of us. With that in mind, I want to commend you to God for the weeks immediately ahead. Weather is not always dependable, but God’s gifts are. Spending time with people or in places that seem out of reach most of the year truly is a blessing. Having time to do (or not do!) whatever lifts your heart is a great blessing, too! Even Jesus took “time apart” to be focused or renewed in Spirit during his time and ministry among us. Spend time as you can in ways that are life giving. And spend time with him....
